The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) is a national Faith-Based Non-Government Organization. Its current membership comprises of the Roman Catholic Church in Uganda, the Church of Uganda, the Uganda Orthodox Church, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Other religious organizations notably the independent Pentecostal and Evangelical churches participate in the implementation of IRCU programs. IRCU’sVisionis ‘A divinely peaceful, united, prosperous Uganda where all people enjoy full health and freedoms for the common good.

JOB TITLE:                     Data Clerk

Number of Vacancies:                  Two (2)

Reports to:                       M & E Specialist (Data)

Duty Station:                   Kampala.

Job Purpose: To collect, clean, enter, analyze data and generate reports. The position entails using an

electronic computer database handling an array of program data. The incumbent may be expected to verify

field reports as and when necessary at the

Institutionalized Religious Bodies and Implementing Partners Levels.

Key Result Areas:

  • Coordinate with the M&E Specialist in the collection of data from Religious Coordinating Bodies and implementing partners and entering it into the database.
  • Verify entered data to ensure accuracy and compliance with set standards
  • Maintain data integrity, confidentiality and efficient operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Build capacity of Implementing Partners/ Institutionalized Religious Bodies to manage their data
  • Analyze  data and generate reports as and whenever required

Qualifications and Experience

  • A University degree in Statistics or qualitative economics.
  • Knowledge of any computer package
  • At least 2 years technical experience in the field of HIV/AIDS and/or monitoring and evaluation.

Special Knowledge Required:

  • Data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft SQL server, Access, and experience in using data entry and analysis software will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of different database information systems and use of software package for database management is an added advantage.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • The ability to multitask and complete projects within a proposed timeframe.

JOB TITLE            : Cashier

Number of Vacancies          : One (1)

Reports To              :                  Assistant Accountant (Finance)

Duty Station            :                   Kampala

Job Purpose: To give financial and administrative support to the IRCU management and staff in line with IRCU Policies and procedures

Key results areas:

  1. Handle all issues related to petty cash management
  2. Support the Finance department in preparation of financial reports & capturing of primary source documents
  3. Participate in financial reporting
  4. Participate in  Bank relationship management

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma or A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business administration or a relevant field with proven career advancement and  MUST Possession of a relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, CIA, CPA, CIMA is desirable

Minimum working Experience:

  • At least (2) two years working experience in a large reputable  organization

Special Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge of accounting information processing packages i.e. Navision will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy
  • Interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively within all levels in the organization
  • High Level of integrity.
