FORMATION OF UGANDA  WOMEN OF FAITH NETWORK  – UGANDA (UWOFNET)

From 24th February to 27th February 2008, 20 Women delegates from different faith groups in Uganda including the Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Anglican Church of Uganda, Muslim faith and Jewish community came together to participate in a four –day  training on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as it links to HIV & AIDS held at Colline Hotel, Mukono. The training was organized by Religions for Peace (WCRP) Women’s Mobilization Program in collaboration with Inter-Religious Council of Uganda.

This followed  the launch of  AWOFNETU by Honorable, Mariam Mayanja, Minister for Women, Buganda Government, represented her Royal Highness, the Queen of Buganda on 27th February 2008. This was witnessed by the Secretary General of IRCU, Chairman Council of Presidents The Elder Pastor Wanni Chairman Council of President Uganda and Mrs. Emma Kang’ethe ACRL Director for African Women of Faith Network .

  5. PROMOTING ACCESS TO JUSTICE AND LEGAL SURVICES FOR THE MARGINALIZED GROUPS.
  6. PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL  PROTECTION
  7. GENDER,  WOMEN’S HEALTH - HIV/AIDS, ISSUES OF REPRODUCTIVE AND MARTERNAL HEALTH
  8. VISIONALY LEADERSHIP.-  EQUIPING WOMEN WITH QUALITY LEADERSHIP AND GOOD DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE AT ALL LEVELS.
