It was all ululations chanting and jubilations in the once troubled town of Gulu as tens of hundreds marched along the potholed streets, to celebrate the International Peace Award won by His Grace Archbishop John Baptist Odama.

Bishop Odama who triples as Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese   and Episcopal Conference chairman, as well as chairman IRCU Peace Justice and Governance Committee chairperson arrived in simple a single motorcade at about 11; 00am donned in a royal purple robe, typical of a dignified, simple, accomplished, noble, regal peace achiever.

The peace making award, is given in honor and memory of Steve Williams, World Vision’s UK senior policy advisor on peace and conflict, who served as a great advocate for Peace and Justice in his professional life before his sudden death in December 2007.
