IRCU Pays Last Respects to Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga

The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) recently paid tribute to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya, who passed away on October 15, 2025. A team from IRCU, led by Apostle Dr. Joseph Sserwadda, who is a member of IRCU Council of Presidents, Deputy Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, a board member who represented Mufti Shk. Ramadhan Mubaje, and Joshua Kitakule, Secretary General of IRCU, visited the Kenyan High Commission in Kampala to sign the condolence book.

During the visit, the team paid tribute to the late statesman, describing him as a stalwart Pan-Africanist who left an indelible mark on Kenyan politics. Raila Odinga was a great champion of social justice, and his tireless work in this field will always be remembered.

The IRCU delegation was received by Deputy Ambassador Dr. Suleiman Roba. The ceremony served as a demonstration of the strong bonds between Uganda and Kenya, as well as the respect for the late leader’s legacy.
